FAQs

Should I buy a collar or harness for my Yorkie?

This breed doesn’t have much muscular support around their neck, and a collar could potentially damage their trachea, larynx, or even their spinal cord. In our opinion, harnesses are a better option if you’re still training your puppy or they’re a little escape artist.

Why is my Yorkie shaking?

One of the most common reasons a Yorkie shakes is because they’re cold! This breed only has one coat which is why they shed less than other dogs, but this also means that you need to invest in warm clothes for them or keep them in a warm climate.

How do you socialize a Yorkie?

Early socialization teaches your puppy to have healthy interactions with other animals, people, unfamiliar environments, sudden noises, and traffic. This practice prevents shyness, nervous behavior, and unsavory defense mechanisms like barking or biting. JosRora Yorkies begins socializing puppies from birth, but it’s possible to do this at any stage of life.

All you have to do is introduce them to new sounds, smells, textures, surfaces, and anything else they might encounter out in the world. By exposing them to these things while they’re young, they’ll be less scared as adults.

Are Yorkshire Terriers good with children?

The breeds level of tolerance and patience with children’s behavior, and overall family friendly nature is high. Dogs should always be supervised around young children, or children of any age who have had little exposure to dogs.
